The Association of Employers in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Group of Employers for the Metal Industry in the FBiH and the Metalworkers’ Union of the FBiH have signed a new Collective Agreement on the Rights and Obligations of Employers and Workers in the Metal Production and Processing Industry in the FBiH.

The Agreement was signed by the President of the Negotiation Team of the Association of Employers in the FBiH/Group of Employers for the Metal Industry in the FBiH, Elvedin Ćosatović, and the President of the Metalworkers’ Union of the FBiH, Almir Salihović.

The Collective Agreement establishes the rights and obligations of employers and workers with regard to employment issues, wages and compensation, working conditions of the union, methods of conducting collective negotiations and resolving disputes, occupational safety and health, and other issues of importance for regulating relations between employers and workers that are not or not fully regulated by the Labor Law and other regulations.

One of the key changes relates to the increase in the lowest net hourly wage – from the current 4.40 BAM to 6.15 BAM, which represents a significant step forward in protecting workers’ rights and improving the material position of employees.

The agreement is the result of constructive dialogue, mutual respect and a shared commitment to stable and sustainable regulation of labor relations in this important economic sector.

The agreement enters into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Association of Employers of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
