Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU Special Representative, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, will visit Srebrenica and Bijeljina on 11 and 12 November 2015.
At the beginning of his visit to Srebrenica, on Wednesday, 11 November, Ambassador Wigemark will lay a wreath at the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Centre.
Ambassador Wigemark will then attend and speak at the Investment and Development Conference „Srebrenica 2015“. (For details please contact the press service of Municipality Srebrenica)
On the second day, Thursday, 12 November, during his visit to Bijeljina, Ambassador Wigemark will meet with Deputy Mayor, Huso Zeckanovic, to discuss European Integration related issues and to hear local viewpoints.
Ambassador Wigemark will also visit the “Raševići d.o.o”, one of SMEs in Bijeljina which received financial support under the EU Floods Recovery Programme. In addition to support to SMEs and agricultural holdings, the EU’s support in Bijeljina under this Programme includes rehabilitation of housing unties, public facilities and communal infrastructure, in total worth nearly 6 million EUR.
At the end of his visit, Ambassador will attend and speak at the Conference on cooperation and implementation of actions to enhance the role of Parliaments in the EU integration process. The Conference is organised in the framework of the EU funded Twinning Project “Enhancing the role of parliaments in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU integration context” and it will be attended by the leadership and Secretaries General of the Parliaments in BiH.
