Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH met with City Officials in Stolac

Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Brian Aggeler, visited Stolac today, engaging in meetings with city officials, religious leaders, and representatives from the NGO sector.

Ambassador Aggeler met with Stolac Mayor Stjepan Bošković, and discussed the ongoing co-operation between the Mission, its Mostar Field Office, and the City administration. They also discussed ongoing initiatives and activities on strengthening co-operation with religious communities, the education reform processes, and social cohesion efforts.

At his meeting with Orhan Tikveša, President of Majlis of the Islamic Community Stolac, Ambassador Aggeler praised the Islamic Community’s continuous advocacy for equal enjoyment of freedom of religion or belief and highlighted the importance of inter-religious dialogue as well as strengthening co-operation with municipal authorities.

Ambassador Aggeler used this opportunity to meet with Minva Hasić, President of the women’s association Orhideja, Domagoj Vujnović NGO Products of Mediterranean Herzegovina and Džemal Tucaković, representative of the Stolac City Orchestra. At this meeting with CSOs, Ambassador Aggeler highlighted to the important role CSO have in bolstering social cohesion, stating “Your efforts in enhancing social cohesion and recognizing the potential of cultural projects in boosting collaboration and promoting positive stories from Stolac are truly admirable and inspiring.”
