The Turkish Ministry of National Defense announced that six personnel were killed in the crash of a UH-1 helicopter conducting a training flight in Isparta, in southwestern Turkey.

“One of our UH-1 type helicopters, performing a training flight in Isparta, experienced an accident, and a total of six of our personnel lost their lives,” the statement said.

It was highlighted that a member of the crew, who had been transported to the hospital with severe injuries sustained in the crash, later succumbed to their injuries, bringing the death toll to six.

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense extended condolences to the families of the deceased and to the Turkish Armed Forces while wishing the injured crew member a swift recovery.

However, as stated by Major General Mirsad Ahmic of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), a member of the AFBiH was also involved in the crash.

“Based on information exchanged with our colleagues from Turkey, one member of the AFBiH was on board a helicopter at the time of the accident. Our member is doing well, and we are in communication with both them and their family. The Ministry of Defense expresses its regret over the accident and has sent telegrams of condolence to the Republic of Turkey regarding the loss of members of the Turkish Armed Forces. We are in contact with the parents and will continue to monitor the situation, and at present, the individual is undergoing routine medical examinations,” Ahmic explained.
