Herzegovina Expects More Visitors This Year

Mostar seebiz.netRepresentatives of the Tourist Cluster of Herzegovina (TKH), consisted of 25 business entities in the tourist sector in Herzegovina, have made a successful presentation at one of the largest international tourist fairs ITB in Berlin, Germany, which took place at the beginning of March.

As it was announced from the Regional Development Agency for Herzegovina (REDAH), a significant number of contacts was established with the representatives of German travel agencies and tour operators, which opened opportunities for the improvement of the cooperation in this season and seasons to come.

A meeting of the TKH representatives and the leading Travel Agency Thomas Cook, that serves over 23 million customers annually, was also held during the Fair.

Members of TKH were also satisfied with establishing connections and networking with neighboring countries such as Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, and Albania. In cooperation with tour operators from the above listed countries, they have the ability to create a more complete offer and attract a larger number of tourists from distant markets like South Korea, China, or Japan.

The members of TKH also note that, through the presentation at ITB Berlin, the possibility of cooperating with the eastern market, or the partners from the United Arab Emirates, was opened up.

According to the announcements, tourists from Turkey, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Lebanon, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Japan, Argentina, and Brazil are to visit Herzegovina in 2015. In addition, a significant number of tourists is expected to come from the neighboring countries Croatia, Serbia, and Slovenia.

Through continuous work on creating new tourist products, building tourist capacities, networking, and significant promotion, the members express their satisfaction with the joint action and consider such an approach to contribute to the increase in tourist arrivals for 4 percent in this year.

The presentation at the Berlin Fair was realized with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the tech support of the Regional Development Agency for Herzegovina (REDAH), and co-financing of the TKH members, stands in the announcement.
