High Representative Christian Schmidt meets President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade

High Representative Christian Schmidt paid an official visit to Belgrade today where he met with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

HR Schmidt and President Vucic exchanged views on the current political situation in the region with emphasis on the advancement of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other Western Balkan countries towards the European Union. High Representative Schmidt cited the functionality of the state of BiH as a requisite factor for the country to achieve graduation from international supervision and progress on EU integration.

The High Representative also expressed support for initiatives aimed at regional integration of all countries in the Western Balkans, which should be inclusive and a step forward to European Integration. He commended President Vucic’s consistent support for BiH’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During his visit to Belgrade, the High Representative also met with the Patriarch of the Serb Orthodox Church, Porfirije
