Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic received a letter of credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia-Herzegovina Ivana Hlavsova.

Komsic expressed gratitude for the continued support that the Czech Republic, both bilaterally and as a member of the Visegrad Group, has given to Bosnia-Herzegovina on its path to the European Union and NATO.

Komsic stressed that support in Bosnia- Herzegovina is very important in the future, especially in the context of gaining the status of candidate for EU membership, once the measures and recommendations from the European Commission’s opinion on Bosnia-Herzegovina’s application for EU membership have been fulfilled.

Ambassador Hlavsova expressed the Czech Republic’s commitment to continue its continued support for Bosnia-Herzegovina on the Euro-Atlantic path and she emphasized that support for EU enlargement is one of the main goals of the Czech Presidency of the Visegrad Group.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic are good and without open issues, but that there is a need to improve economic relations.

The successful cooperation between Bosnia -Herzegovina and the Czech Republic in the field of education and culture is particularly emphasized. It is stated that the good relations between the two countries are based on historical, strong and long-lasting ties, especially due to the fact that the old Czech community lives in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and that BiH citizens have lived in the Czech Republic for many years.

During the meeting, Chairman Komsic thanked for all the assistance that the Czech Republic has implemented through projects in Bosnia-Herzegovina in recent years.
