At the session scheduled for today, the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina should consider the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Value Added Tax, proposed by the PSBiH House of Representatives, which envisages increasing the threshold for mandatory registration from the current 50,000 to 100,000 BAM.
In the explanation of the proposed law, it is stated that the reason for increasing the limit for registration of taxpayers from 50,000 BAM to 100,000 BAM is an obvious need, given the inflationary trends and price increases of goods and services in the past period, as well as the forecast of economic trends for the next period.
The Finance and Budget Committee of the House of Peoples supported, in the second committee stage and without amendments, the proposal of this law.
The Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Srđan Amidžić, said that he expects the House of Peoples to adopt amendments to the VAT Law, which will increase the threshold for entry into the VAT system from 50,000 to 100,000 BAM, which will give relief to more than 6,200 taxpayers.
He said that if the amendments to the law are adopted in the House of Peoples, public revenues will be reduced by 25 million BAM.
Today, the House of Peoples should consider the Annual Audit Report on the main findings and recommendations for the year 2022, as well as the Reports of the Office for the Audit of BiH Institutions on the financial audit of the institutions of BiH for the year 2022.
The agenda should include the Report on the financial audit of the execution of the Budget of the institutions of BiH for 2022, and the Report on the execution of the Budget of the institutions of BiH and international obligations of BiH for the year 2022.
Approval for the ratification of the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on the reconstruction of the Brčko (BiH) – Gunja (RO) bridge is also foreseen.
