House of Representatives to decide on increase of Excise Taxes

house of representaivesAn emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly is scheduled for 5th April, when lawmakers are to discuss increasing the excise tax on fuel for 15 pfennig.

The request of the Council of Ministers for consideration of the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Excise Duties in BiH, the request for consideration of the Bill on Amendments to the Law on payments to a single account and allocation of revenues, all in an emergency procedure will be on the agenda.

Moreover, deputies will discuss the request the Council of Ministers for consideration of the Bill amending the Law on Indirect Taxation System in BiH and the Draft Law on Deposit Insurance in Banks of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

To recall, at yesterday’s session, the Council of Ministers accepted the proposal to increase the excise tax on fuel for 15 pfennig, which was one of the conditions the IMF for the second tranche of the loan. In future it is expected from the state parliament to adopt the Draft Law on Excise, after which BiH should get the second tranche of the loan.
