Houthis: The US and Great Britain carried out Airstrikes on Three Areas in Yemen

The United States and Great Britain carried out airstrikes on three Yemeni areas, including the capital Sanaa, the Yemen-based Houthi group announced on Sunday.

The Houthi-affiliated SABA news agency announced that “American and British aggression targeted the city of Sana’a and its surroundings in 17 airstrikes.”

“The US-British aggression launched two airstrikes on the communication network in the Qaradha area of Haifan district and launched another attack on the communication network in the Shamir area of Maqbanah district in Taiz province,” the agency said.

It added that two attacks were carried out on Al-Har farms in Abs district of Hajjah province.

Earlier, the Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah TV reported that the US and Great Britain carried out airstrikes on the Yemeni capital Sana’a on Saturday.

An unnamed military source from the Houthi group was quoted as saying that “the renewed attacks of US-British aggression are a desperate attempt to prevent Yemen from providing support operations to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”

The US and UK have not yet confirmed the attacks.

Since last fall, the Houthis have been targeting cargo ships in the Red Sea owned or operated by Israeli companies or carrying goods to and from Israel in solidarity with Gaza.

With tensions escalating over joint US-UK airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen, the group said it considers all US and British ships to be legitimate military targets.

The Red Sea is one of the most used sea routes in the world for transporting oil and fuel.
