The newly built Trebevic cable car started working on April 6, this year, on the Day of the City of Sarajevo and it became one of the most visited tourist attractions in the capital city of BiH.

Therefore, Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka and Director of Public Enterprise Sarajevo Esad Tanovic held a press conference on the occasion of 100 days of work of Trebevic cable car.

Skaka noted that a total of 393,694 rides were recorded in this period, and he compared this data with the pre-war period and the record-breaking year of 1986 when a total of 300,000 rides were recorded.

He added that a total of 201,560 tickets were sold, and added: “Free rides were not included here”.

Furthermore, more than 40,000 tickets were also sold to foreigners.

He also revealed the plans on the opening of a restaurant at the final station and the construction of a ski trail, and added that he expects their presentation to take place in the month of September. Skaka also announced other contents that will make Trebevic one of the top tourist destinations.

“It is interesting,” added Skaka, “that we had four “successful marriage proposals.” However, he did not reveal whether there were some unsuccessful ones.

Tanovic thanked all the authorities for mutual cooperation and stated: “We all worked in synergy.”
