How many unemployed People celebrate Labor Day in BiH?

studentsInternational Labor Day is being celebrated in Bosnia and Herzegovina today, a country with 536.684 unemployed persons.

In memory of the labor demonstrations held in Chicago 130 years ago and in respect for the fight for laborers’ rights, May 1 is celebrated across the world in order to remind of the solidarity of the working people and as a warning that there is a large number of those who cannot exercise one of the fundamental human rights – the right to work.

Apart from May first, a non-working day in BiH will also be tomorrow, May 2, while May 3 will be non-working day only in the FBiH. This means that bodies and organizations, local administration units, enterprises, institutions and other organizations and persons who professionally deal with services and production will not be working.

Announcement of protests for requesting better working conditions so far comes only from Tuzla. Cloudy and rainy weather will certainly affect the decisions about outdoor trips.
