Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced that Israel spends about 246 million dollars a day on the conflict in Gaza.

Speaking on Israeli army radio, Smotrich said there would be changes in the annual budget because of the war that has been ongoing since October 7.

“This year’s budget of the country is no longer valid. It should be changed in accordance with the development of events in Israel,” said Smotrich.

He said he did not yet have an estimate of the indirect costs to the economy, which has been partially paralyzed by the massive mobilization of army reservists and the large number of rockets fired from the Palestinian side.

The annual budget in Israel, which is about 132 billion dollars in 2023, is projected to be about 140 billion dollars in 2024.
