The best swimmer from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lana Pudar, won third place at the World Aquatics Championship, which is being held in Doha, Qatar, and in addition to the bronze medal, she also collected a certain amount of money.
Lana Pudar won bronze with a time of 2:07.92. Gold went to Laura Stephens with a time of 2:07:35, while Denmark’s Helena Rosendah Bach won silver with a time of 2:07:44.
As Sportskeeda.com writes, the World Aquatics Championship in Doha had a total prize pool of over 5.2 million euros, including all athletes and disciplines.
Of that, about 2.5 million euros were set aside for swimming, and each gold, silver and bronze medal winner received 18,600 euros, 13,400, or 9,300 euros, which was Lana’s share for third place, which certainly shows that this is very expensive and a relatively low-paying sport.
In this same discipline, Pudar won the title of European senior champion in Rome in 2022, and now she added another great result at the World Championship.
Let’s remind you, at the World Championships in Fukuoka in 2023, she won fourth place in the 200-meter butterfly, and as she was again the second youngest participant in the final, it is clear that her time is yet to come despite the great results already achieved.
By the way, the Mostar woman, who recently turned 18, has as many as 20 medals from the biggest competitions in her possession.
