The following is statement by High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini following a dinner with the leaders from the Western Balkans:

Last night, I hosted a working dinner with Commissioner Johannes Hahn and the leaders of our Western Balkans partners in the margins of the 73rd UN General Assembly in New York. This was a good opportunity to discuss recent developments and progress in the region.

Our joint commitment to helping all Western Balkans partners to take irreversible steps forward on their EU integration paths stands as firm as ever. This will require sustained work on EU-related reforms and more genuine and effective cooperation. We also touched upon the Prespa Agreement on the name issue and the Belgrade Pristina Dialogue; both are key for the development of the region and its European path.

The leaders confirmed their strong commitment to moving forward the European Union integration process by accelerating reforms and further promoting good neighbourly relations.
