High Representative Christian Schmidt welcomes the decision of the Posavina Canton Assembly to amend its Constitution recognizing the equality of the Serb people, the official status of the Serb language and Cyrillic script in this Canton, as well as recognizing the Bosnian language as an official language of the canton.

Upholding the Rule of Law is the duty of all levels of authority and Posavina Cantonal Assembly has fulfilled that duty by taking the decision yesterday to implement the outstanding obligation stemming from the 2018 Judgement of the Federation Constitutional Court.

The High Representative now calls on the West Herzegovina cantonal authorities to do its duty to uphold the law and fully implement the Federation Constitutional Court’s judgement.
