The Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt held a meeting today with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas in Brussels.

After the meeting, the OHR reported Schmidt’s statement:

“Future EU membership is more important than ever as a factor of stability. I see great seriousness and readiness in the EU to take responsibility when it comes to security and peace in the Western Balkans, especially in BiH,” the High Representative emphasized.

Incidentally, the OHR called today’s meeting “very constructive”, and the meeting comes a few days after the members of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council discussed the crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At that time, it was said that the international community, namely Schmidt, would not react if local politicians did their job, but the possibility of their action was not ruled out if the blockades of the institutions continued.
