HRS and MOST: A new Era of Croatian Politics in BiH is coming

Delegations of the Croatian Republican Party (HRS) and MOST held a joint meeting in Zagreb, where they analyzed the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and defined joint future activities of the two parties in order to further strengthen cooperation on the status of Croats in BiH.

They believe that the Republic of Croatia should use all the diplomatic capacities it has in the institutions of the European Union (EU), the Council of Europe, NATO, and others in order to provide maximum possible support to solve the so-called Croatian issue in BiH.

“The fact is that the international community has openly sided with unitarian Sarajevo politics. Statements about the ‘unified BiH of one nation’ by EU representatives speak for themselves. It is clear, therefore, that all alleged lobbying by the Croatian government does not exist. On the contrary, they are harmful. It is seen through the fact that Croatian representatives in the Council of Europe, led by Marija Pejcinovic Buric, remained silent and without any reaction to the embarrassing speech of Zeljko Komsic, in which he twisted history by talking about Croatian aggression on BiH, ” it was said by HRS and Most.

They think that because of the above-mentioned, Croats in BiH need a political catharsis, ie a political turn in BiH.

“Political models should be defined that will put the Croatian people and the Croatian man in the forefront. Croats as a constituent people in BiH, with all their civil and political rights guaranteed in the Constitution and the Election Law, at the cost of positions and benefits from the government. In order to achieve that, Croatia’s policy towards BiH must be moved from Brussels to BiH. Croatia must pursue a sovereign policy towards Croats in BiH, as long as the Croatian issue in this country is not systematically resolved. This has led to Croats in BiH not having any political strategy, and in particular, no clear strategy, unless changes are made to the Election Law,” they said.

At the end of this statement, it was mentioned that the time has come “for a new political direction, a political strategic alternative for Croats in BiH, which will be led by HRS and MOST”.

“The primary emphasis will be on changes to the Constitution, administrative reorganization of BiH, and to begin with defining a clear strategy for the upcoming 2022 General Elections and a scenario in case of non-adoption of changes to the election law. We will allow sister party HDZ which objectively has the greatest responsibility at the moment, “to offer the solutions, that is, to offer the Plan B. If, or rather, when that does not happen, we go with our own. A new era of Croatian politics is coming, on both sides of the border,” they explained.
