Today a presentation took place at the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber for MVM Ovit ZRT, an electric company from Hungary.
The goal of the presentation was to demonstrate the opportunities to build a thermal power plant biomass and the financing of such projects by the Hungarian Development Bank (Exim Bank).
MVM Ovit ZRT is a state company, and the basic field of activities includes design, construction, maintenance and establishment of power plants, manufacturing, steel structures, power steering, heavy transport and telecommunications.
The company intends to expand its activities in BiH, where they already had a series of successful projects, such as the reconstruction of Blok 5 TE “Tuzla”, and are participating in a tender procedure for the construction of new plants in TE “Tuzla” and “Kakanj”.
The presentation was organized for representatives of municipalities, directors and representatives of utility companies and directors and representatives of electric companies in BiH.
Peter Gopcsa, the General Director of electric company Hungary, said that this company is present in BiH for 10 years.
“In the last few years in Hungary the construction of thermal power plants biomass is the trend, and we think that the topic is interesting for BiH. We have already signed two letters of intent with municipalities Bosanska Krupa and Bihać, and this letter with Bihać was signed this morning’’, said Gopcsa.
The goal of today’s presentation was to present the financing of the construction of thermal power plants. He added that the Hungarian Development Bank has monitored the construction and financing of 85 percent of the value of the project.
The value of the power plant in Bosanska Krupa that would heat 5.000 households is around 10 million euros.
Ismet Kumalić, the President of VTKBiH, said that the Chamber uses the opportunity to get to know about developments in neighboring countries in the area of renewable energy.
“We are intensifying cooperation with Hungarian companies and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce, and two days ago we hosted their President. Today the company is here, and next week a mixed committee will arrive’’, said Kumalić.
Representative of the company MVM for the Former Yugoslavia Mehmed Polimac said that the biggest project of this company that is expected to be implemented in BiH is TE “Tuzla”, which is the construction of Blok 7. The value of the investment is 900 million euros, which speaks volumes of the serious intents of the company.
