At the collective funeral on July 11 this year in the Srebrenica Memorial Center – Potočari, the remains of ten victims of the genocide committed in July 1995 in the UN protected zone will be buried.

The spokeswoman for the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Emza Fazlić, said in an interview for Fena that the victims who will be buried this year were between the ages of 20 and 56.

“Among them are three young men who were in their twenties at the time of their death and who will only now find their final peace. These are innocent people who were killed in the area of Vlasenica, Zvornik, Bratunac and Srebrenica, and whose remains were exhumed years later from different mass graves,” said Fazlić.

The remains of two victims were found and exhumed as early as 1997, while the remains of the other victims were exhumed between 2001 and 2022 in the locations of Kamenica, Jelovačka česma, Budak, Glogova…

The youngest victim who will be buried this year is Senad (Zaim) Jusić, born in 1975, who was 20 years old at the time of his death. He disappeared in July 1995 in the area of Bratunac, and his remains were exhumed in 2022 at the site of Kameničko brdo.

The oldest victim is Ramo (Mustafa) Dautović, born in 1939. Ramo was born in Srebrenica, disappeared in the area of Zvornik, and his remains were exhumed in 2001 after the discovery of the Kamenica – Čančari mass grave. He will be buried next to his brother Jusa, who was buried earlier.

This year, as in previous years, a son will find final peace next to his father, a brother next to his brother, a cousin next to his cousin…
