IC: The Contract with the State of BiH and the Islamic Community is being blocked

For a long time, the public in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been manipulating the content of the contract between the Islamic Community and the state, announced the Public Relations Office of the Islamic Community.

The statement states that numerous media, politicians and analysts contribute to this phenomenon, out of their own interests and for various motives, manipulating and distorting the facts, and presenting the contract of the Islamic community as exclusivity in relation to the religious communities with which the contract has already been signed, as is done by the president SNSD Milorad Dodik.

“For the sake of truth, we consider it necessary to recall that the Catholic and Orthodox churches have signed an agreement with the state in which the state body is obliged to inform the church that an investigation is being conducted against a church person. In Article 8, paragraph 1, of the Basic Agreement between the Holy See and Bosnia and Herzegovina states: “In the case of a judicial investigation of a cleric, religious or religious because of possible criminal acts provided for by the criminal law, the judicial authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina will notify the competent church authorities beforehand.” The same provision was requested by the Islamic community, which is challenged by it, but the churches are not challenged”, according to the statement of the Public Relations Office of the Islamic Community, reported by the Mina agency.

It is also added that HDZ president Dragan Čović did prevent the signing of the contract and that he said it was a political issue.

“This is a fact that cannot be changed. Besides, with such actions and policies, the HDZ president has irreparably damaged the trust of Bosniaks and the Islamic community,” the statement said.

Regarding the comments of the former member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mladen Ivanić, the fact is that the jummah (prayer on Friday) issue served only as an excuse, because the contract clearly excludes those jobs that would endanger people’s lives or cause greater material damage.

“Accordingly, things are the opposite, that the Islamic community is in an unequal position, and that the contract with the state is the exclusivity of the churches, while the contract with the Islamic community is being blocked and disputed. Blockades of the Islamic community’s contract with the state should, in fact, be a lesson to Bosniaks politicians not to take the hypocritical politicians from the Croatian and Serbian people at their word, as we from the Islamic community believed”, it is stated in the press release of the Public Relations Office of the Islamic Community.
