iftar2Youth iftar, which is organized by Info-Service for the youth of the Islamic Community of Mostar was traditionally organized in the city on the Neretva River last night on a plateau beneath the Old Bridge, and it gathered about 600 students from Mostar and all over BiH.

Coordinator for youth in the Islamic Community of Mostar, Arnel Demirovic, noted that the iftar dinner under the Old Bridge was organized by Info-Service for youth in the Majlis of the Islamic Community of Mostar for the third time in a row.

“This is the third traditional iftar that was organized under the Old Bridge for young people of Mostar, and other cities. Tonight, here we have young people from Konjic, Jablanica, Prozor, Stolac, Capljina, Sarajevo and Central Bosnia,” stated Demirovic.

It is our satisfaction that young people made this iftar traditional, noted Chief Imam of the Majlis of Mostar, Suljo ef. Cikotic.

“The purpose of fasting and iftar dinner is the education of people, gathering, and mutual understanding. That is piety. As the purpose and sense of fasting with iftar together, this piety is getting stronger, understanding of the other and different is increased, and that is best manifested in the unity,” said Cikotic.

Young people here, as he noted, show great love for their faith, as well as for their country and their city.

“They give their personal time and their comfort. They are here to show their strength of will, faith, and a great desire for more organized, stronger, more beautiful and safer future,” stated Cikotic. He noted that the atmosphere in the Old town of Mostar is best illustrated by the fact that this iftar gathered hundreds of young people from all over the country, who spent their time in a special atmosphere with inevitable traditional nasheeds.
