On the occasion of Easter, the greatest Christian holiday, team of the portal Klix.ba, visited one of the most important spiritual centers of the Orthodox believers in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Zitomislici monastery near Mostar.
Zitomislic monastery was built, in its present form, in 1566, at the same time as the Old Bridge in Mostar. Then, in the 16th century, a permission from Nevesinje judge has been obtained for the construction of monastery, and in the permission it wrote that he allows the reconstruction of the monastery, which is a clear evidence that the monastery existed even before the 16th century, and that because of the Ottoman occupation, it was destroyed and reconstructed again“, said Iguman Danilo.
“I would like to send the Easter message to all citizens of our country Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially to citizens of the city of Mostar and its surrounding, where we are living and serving: Easter is a fundamental holiday and the basis of our Christian faith. To all Christians, no matter what church they belong to, I want for resurrected Christ to renew their faith in the fact that the life is stronger than death and that Christ is greater than every sin. To all other people who believe in God, and also to those who do not believe, I want from Easter to bring them a new beginning, since the Easter is a spring when everything is awakening. So that this period from Easter to be awakening of faith in people, in good, and in everything that has basic human values“, said at the end Iguman Danilo.
