With the formation of members of the Light Infantry Battalion Group (BGLP) in the “Mika Bosnić” barracks in Manjaca, the start of the “Immediate Response 23” exercise was made official, which represents the regular annual conditioning of the Light Infantry Battalion Group of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The review of 290 members of the Light Infantry Battalion Group was conducted by the Commander of the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Major General Radovan Ilić.
General Ilić emphasized the importance of that exercise and that it is one of the main training events, in accordance with the main training plan for 2023, which is the conditioning of the battalion combat group as part of the obligations, i.e. the program of the concept of developing operational capabilities.
He also emphasized the professionalism, readiness and ability of the members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, both through previous evaluations and through engagement in international peacekeeping missions. In the end, he wished all the members success in carrying out all assigned tasks.
The “Immediate Response 23” exercise will last until June 2, is an evaluation of the operational capabilities of the BGLP OS BiH, and will be implemented through the national “OCC E&F” evaluation concept.
To make this possible, the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, in cooperation with the Command for Training and Doctrine (KOiD), realized the first domestic course “OCC E&F” evaluators, who will be certified by NATO at the end of the exercise and thus increase the pool of evaluators of the Armed Forces of BiH.
In the exercise, for the first time in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in external evaluation exercises, offensive and defensive operations will be performed in a populated place using equipment donated by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
It is also an opportunity to advance the implementation of the partner goal “The fight of combined genders in urban terrain” and for the unit, as well as other structures of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to assess the level of training in this important segment.
“In addition to General Ilić, the formation was attended by the exercise director, commander of the Training and Doctrine Command Brigadier Slaven Blavicki, acting deputy commander for operations of the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina Brigadier Mirzet Lubenović, commander of the 5th Infantry Brigade Brigadier Emir Kliko and head of S-3 4. of the infantry brigade Brigadier Roberto Gašić and members of the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo”, announced the Office for Public Relations of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
