12992370_1755080001395343_1214787607_nIn BiH, according to the plans, should be constructed more than a dozen wind farms in the next few years, which will be mostly located in the south of the country, along the Croatian border, according to the available data.

Some of these major projects, whose total value is measured in hundreds of millions of BAM, have already been started, while others are only announced.

With these projects, BiH aims to implement the European Energy directive by 2020, which provides reduction of gas emissions by 20 % and 20 % share of renewable sources in the total production of electricity. This, apart from BiH, are trying to enforce the other Southeast European countries as well, especially by construction of series of wind farms.

When it comes to BiH, the most recent example is granting of a concession for the construction of wind farm near the village of Teocak, located near Bihac, which has been assigned to the company “Ivicom Consulting” from Zagreb.

Vid Santic, Minister of Economy of the Una-Sana Canton (USC), said that the best tenderer has the right to construct a plant that would turn the wind into electricity, considering that total installed capacities of wind power plants cannot exceed 40 MW.

“Their individual power would amount to 5 MW, which means that it provides for the construction of up to 8 wind pillars. The estimated value of this project is about 50 million BAM,” stated Santic. He added that the exploitation of the energy resources of USC in the future will be one of the strategic objectives of the current government in this canton. One of the certain large-scale wind farms, whose implementation is taking place, the construction of a wind farm on the mountain Trusina, near Nevesinje, in which the British company “Kermas” is planning to invest about 150 million BAM. This major project should be completed next year.

Moreover, in RS should be constructed wind power plant “Hrgud” in Berkovici. Regarding this, at the end of September last year was signed a concession contract for the construction of this wind farm, which has been assigned to the “Elektroprivreda RS”. Total value of the project is 127 million BAM. At the locality is planned construction of wind power with the capacity of 48 MW with 16 facilities, or with 3 MW per facility. It is expected for this project to be realized in the next few years. Djokic said that, the Government of RS is determined to continue to rapidly manage projects of energy, or more specifically the construction of energy facilities for electricity production, especially from renewable sources. When it comes to FBiH, among other things, the construction of wind farm “Mesihovina”, near Tomislavgrad is planned. According to the proposal from the main project, the wind farm will have 22 wind turbines whose installed individual power to be from 2 to 2.5 MW, which will make a total installed capacity of 44-55 MW, depending on the choice, and power of a wind turbine.
