Halid Beslic, a legend of folk music and a man whose voice marked generations and wove emotions into the hearts of all who love sincere, authentic music, was born on November 20th, 1953.

Halid Beslic was not just a singer; he was a symbol of sorrow and joy, of love for the homeland and the ordinary person, a man who built bridges between people through song.

Born in the small village of Knezina near Sokolac, Halid devoted his life to music that reflects the soul of the people. His career, spanning more than four decades, brought countless songs that became evergreens: Miljacka, Romanija, Ja bez tebe ne mogu da zivim, Hej zoro, ne svani, Prvi poljubac, Necu, necu dijamante, Sevdah da se dogodi, and Vracam se majci u Bosnu are just some of the hits that still resonate today in homes, cafes, radio airwaves, and at every celebration where people want to feel the emotion and connection that Halid leaves through his song.

He was laid to rest at the Bare City Cemetery in Sarajevo on October 13th 2025. He passed away on Tuesday, October 7th, in Sarajevo after a short battle with a serious illness.

Even three months after his sudden departure, many people on social media from time to time share a memory of Halid.
