Monastery “Kraljica svete krunice (Queen of the Holy Rosary)” in Tuzla is home for four nuns. The life of these women, who have committed to the mundane existence in chastity, poverty and obedience, has always been specific and interesting to the general public.
Their everyday life in a monastery, besides prayer and Holy Mass that are in the first place, is regular housework, which is done by all the other members of the monastery as well.
Meetings with youth are very common, and therefore, they are trying to talk, listen and advise all of those who want to talk with them.
“There is no unique work that we do in our monastery in Tuzla. The range is very wide. We’re mostly all related to Catholic School Center. We have a lot of activities with young people, which are placed in the church,” said sister Herman, who was in service in Zadar, Sarajevo and Zagreb before arriving in Tuzla.
“If we truly believe in Christ’s victory, we would be able to win in our life with his power. For Easter is important to celebrate it as a true feast of faith, not as a habit,” said sister Herman.
The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, declared the period from the 8th of December 2015 to the 20th of November 2016, as the year of divine mercy.
“This is an important thing because the interpersonal relations, as well as relations on some higher levels, such as national, inter-ethnic and inter-religious, are very often burdened with a high level of cruelty, unforgiveness, and everything that is opposed to human behavior,” says sister Herman.
In the year of divine mercy, she added, people need to become aware of their own behavior, their own hostility, hatred and condemnation, inside of themselves.
