A group of 70 medical doctors who were on the records of the Tuzla Canton (TC) Employment Office were given the opportunity to work in the local health institutions.

The Government of TC has approved the Program for the Improvement of Health Care in Health Care Institutions for 2024 and 2025, by enabling the provision of a larger scope of health services through the engagement of additional professional staff – doctors of medicine.

The Institute of Health Insurance TC is responsible for providing a total of 2,268,000 BAM in planning documents for this and next year for the financing of the mentioned program for the engagement of 70 medical doctors, which amounts to 2,700 BAM per month per engaged doctor.

“Part of the money was provided by the Federal Employment Office, but that amount was not enough, and the Health Insurance Institute of TC is responsible for providing the rest needed to increase the standard of health care. The public call was conducted by the Employment Service of TC, and 70 doctors were selected, who were unemployed on December 31st, 2023,” said Almira Huric, assistant director of the Health Insurance Institute of TC.

Funding for the program began on June 1st and will last for one year, Klix.ba reports.
