At the 66th International Exhibition of Inventions (IENA) in Nuremberg (Germany), innovators from BiH presented eight innovations that have been awarded with two silver and two bronze medals.
Silver went to Branko Miličević from Posušje and Senad Šećerbegović from Sarajevo. Milićević invented a welding mask which is three to four times lighter than existing ones.
This significant innovation for welders Milićević created using carbon fiber helmet.
Besides being lighter, the helmet is virtually unbreakable and provides better insulation.
Šećerbegović invented the stable skateboard, with two front and one rear wheel.
Such skateboards already exist, but the novelty is in the fact that the stability is achieved through electric brakes on the left or right wheel and not by risky balancing and tilting by the skater. This skateboard can reach the speed of up to 10 km/hour.
Bronze medals went to Zoran Dujaković from Banja Luka and two veterinarians Sanel Alagić from Bugojno and Mevlin Hadžiosmanović from Visoko.
Dujaković’s innovation enables efficient and safe off-road (temporary) or permanent detection of open and closed spaces, vehicles, buildings, people, animals, etc., without risk to the guide or the dog.
Veterinarians invented cubes for the protection from river flooding. These are empty plastic cubes which, with a surge of flooding would in a timely manner be stacked along the coast, and would be gradually filled with the incoming water.
The first exhibition of innovations IENA was held in 1948 in the then war torn Nuremberg, three years after the war ended.
