Public hearings on the draft law on the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas in the FBiH, whose adoption is expected in mid-next year, was held in Mostar.

Assistant to Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry of FBiH Sakib Slijepcevic said that it is a specialist law which is linked to the existing geological research and exploration of mineral resources.

“According to preliminary investigations, it was found that certain oil reserves exist in BiH. However, these stocks have not been explored so that the serious exploitation could be considered. Passing this law will create conditions for more serious oil and gas exploitation business.” said Slijepcevic.

A series of public hearing will be held in the next 30 days, after which the ministry will prepare a final version of the law on the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas in FBiH.
