After the increase in foreign investments in the 1st quarter of the year of 2017, growth trend was continued in the second trimester as well, when it reached the amount of 386.7 million BAM or 197.7 million EUR (with estimated retained earnings).

That represents a significant increase in comparison to previous years, when a decrease of foreign investments was usually recorded, as announced by the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) in BiH.

“This data confirms that, despite difficulties that investors are facing when it comes to business ambient in BiH, constant work on finding new investors, promotion of BiH as an interesting destination for foreign investments and frequents meetings that FIPA has with foreign investors, bring positive results. The most important effects of foreign investments are visible in the employment of our citizens in the situation when we have nearly 25 % unemployed people, according to data of the Agency for Statistics of BiH,” as stated in the announcement of FIPA.

The increase of investments, as noted, further commits all competent authorities of BiH to continue working on improvement of conditions for economic activities of both domestic and foreign investors, on stabilization of political circumstances in our country as the main precondition for attracting foreign investments, enforcement of required reforms and on coordinated work of competent institutions on attracting foreign investments, with FIPA as coordinator of activities.
