Increase in Prices of Goods for Personal Consumption in BiH

Prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina, measured by the consumer price index, in November compared to the previous month this year, increased by an average of 1.2 percent.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages, in November compared to October, increased by an average of 1.8 percent, housing and overhead expenses by 1.8 percent, furniture and household appliances by 0.5 percent, health care by 0.1 percent, transportation by 1.8 percent, restaurants and hotels by 0.6 percent, and other goods and services by 0.3 percent, according to the BiH Statistics Agency.

On an annual basis (in November this year compared to November last year) prices rose by 5.5 percent.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 8.5 percent on average, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 1.9 percent, housing and overheads by 3.7 percent, furniture, household appliances and regular housekeeping by 2.6 percent, health care by 0.9 percent, transportation 15.7 percent, recreation and culture by 1.5 percent, education by 0.2 percent, restaurants and hotels by 2.5 percent, and other goods and services by 1.1 percent.

The average drop in prices was recorded in the clothing and footwear departments by 7.1 percent, and communications by 0.3 percent.
