Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against Vaso Simić, born in 1985 in Zvornik, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina

This accused person is charged with transporting migrants, citizens of Egypt who had previously entered the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the territory of the Republic of Serbia by avoiding the border control and who did not meet the conditions for legal entry and stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which the accused did in a previous agreement with a person from the Republic of Serbia known to him and for the purpose of acquiring unlawful material gain.

Having admitted five migrants, including one minor child, into the passenger’s motor vehicle he was driving, the accused then headed towards Zvornik and he refused to stop his vehicle when officers of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina showed him the stop sign in an attempt to make him stop the vehicle he was driving, and he continued driving at high speed on a local road. Then, he parked his vehicle and left it, but the police officers who found illegal migrants in the vehicle prevented him from running away.

The aforementioned accused person is charged with the commission of the criminal offence of Smuggling of Persons, referred to in Article 189, paragraph 4 in conjunction with paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
