International Business Conference of Canton Sarajevo opened

conferenceYesterday, International Business Conference of Canton Sarajevo started in Sarajevo, which aims to inform domestic and foreign investors about plans for 2017, as well as about what has been done so far, according to Muharem Sabic, the Minister of Economy of Canton Sarajevo.

“Also, today will be presented about 100 projects from wood industry, IT sector and tourism field “, said Sabic, hoping that information will be shared on Business to Business meetings, that is, potential contract signing.

Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo, Elmedin Konakovic, said that deficit was reduced by 47 million BAM in nine months in Canton Sarajevo, which is very important.

He emphasized that the turn is on development, capital phase by which is expected serious investment development of Canton Sarajevo in the next year.

“This is the opportunity to exchange or offer experience to people from public sector from other cantons and levels of government about what is waiting for us in Canton Sarajevo next year by exchanging the experiences with people form real sector,” said Konakovic, emphasizing how numbers of CS are very good, and that there are 3048 more employed people in comparison to the same month of the last year.

He added that this trend rises and continues.

Moreover, he stated that Canton Sarajevo already has two letters of intentions of company from Korea which wants to make 400 million USD worth medical center in Hadzici, and the other is memorandum about cooperation with largest investor from Arabian world whose investment potential is worth 19 billion USD. They are interested in several projects.

Blazenka Miskovic, the deputy director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency, said more about investment potentials of BiH. She noted that the largest investor in BiH are Austria, Serbia, Croatia, Russia…
