The Standing Committee of the International League of Humanists (ILH) awarded Jakob Finci and Dervo Sejdić the Golden Charter for Peace “Truth and Justice’’ with a plaque and badge as a sign of lasting gratitude for their commitment to defending and protecting human rights and freedom, in connection with the judgment at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

The gold plaque “Journalist, Publicist of the Decade’’ with a badge was awarded to Adil Kulenović for outstanding results in the area of journalism-publishing activities and for the defense of truth in BiH.

Prominent journalist and publicist Zekerijah Smajić was awarded the Golden Charter “Journalist, Humanist of the Decade” for his invaluable contribution to the ILH mission.

On this occasion, last night in Sarajevo there was a ceremony to hand out these ILH awards, at which the General Secretary of the ILH Zdravko Šurlan and prof. dr. Kasim Trnka, as well as chairman of the ILH Ethical Committee Vladimir Premec, President of the ILH Committee for Humanism and Social Order, and lawyer Josip Muselimović spoke about the laureates and their commitment to universal human values.

They pointed out that the activities of the laureates coincides with the ILH, which is dedicated to peace, prosperity, especially key civilizational values based on humanism, ethics and common good.

All the current problems in the world-from ecological to economic are the result of decadent moral values with which people and humanity have to bring back, if they want to preserve the planet and the future of life on earth, according to them.

ILH recognition coincides with two projects entitled “Where Does the Road to Justice and Peace, Media and Truth Lead”.

The awards ceremony was attended by a number of prominent figures, among which was the High Representative to BiH Valentin Inzko, and for the entertainment part of the ceremony, The choir and dance group of the Sarajevo elementary school “Isak Samokovlija” participated.
