mostar fair2The 18th International Trade Fair – Mostar 2015, one of the most important economic events in the region, has been officially opened in the Free Zone of Herzegovina.

The Fair, which will last until April 18, was opened by the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mladen Ivanic, who pointed out the importance of this event.

“I am pleased that the BiH Presidency is patron of this event, and we accepted it for two reasons. The first one is that the Mostar Fair is the most serious economic event in BiH, which, despite the crisis, brings together a large number of exhibitors, and the second reason is that this event is held in Mostar. This city has to become the place it deserves, and that is to be one of the key cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina both in the economic and cultural life” said Ivanic.

This year, 750 exhibitors from twenty countries will display their products at approximately 30,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor space , with Taiwan being this year’s fair partner, a Far Eastern country with great economic potential.

Director of Mostar Fair, Dalfina Bosnjak, said that despite the difficult economic, social and political situation in the country, Mostar Fair continues to be held, expressing satisfaction that the Fair capacities are fully booked.

“We thank all the exhibitors for having recognized us as a place where they can present in the best way their business potential. We hope that the Mostar Fair will give a strong impetus to business people in making new business arrangements and partnerships” said Bosnjak.

The opening ceremony was attended by the member of the BiH Presidency from the Croatian people, Dragan Covic, and other senior government officials, and representatives of the diplomatic corps in BiH.

After the opening ceremony, the high delegations toured the fair space, after which the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH, Vjekoslav Bevanda, opened a sub-fair event- Fair of Timber Industry.

Within  the general fair event,  which  includes all sectors of economy, there will be traditional special events such as Tourism Fair, Book and Printing Industry Fair and Information Technology Fair.
