Valentin Inzko o dogovoru Tihić-Čović: Podržavamo sve što je konstruktivnoThe High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko congratulated Frank-Walter Steinmeier on his election for President of the Federal Republic of Germany and wished him success in his work.

“Many people today see Germany as a beacon of hope and humanism because, as President Steinmeier emphasized in his speech when taking office, Germany should be a place of hope, at a time when democratic institutions around the world are in danger,” reminded Inzko.

He added that the choice of Steinmeier is also good news for BiH, given that he clearly expressed the view that the European Union cannot be completed without the Western Balkans and that he continuously supports the European perspective of all the countries of the region.

Also, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the former Foreign Minister of Great Britain Phillip Hammond, Steinmeier was the initiator of a new European approach to BiH, thus allowing BiH to accelerate progress on its path towards the EU.

Inzko noted that the fate of Germany is the fate of Europe to a large extent, and consequently the Balkans, expressing confidence that as President, Steinmeier will continue to support BiH and its European future.

The newly elected President of the Federal Republic of Germany sent a short message to the High Representative, thanking him for his congratulations, as announced by the Office of the High Representative in BiH.
