IOM: Significant decrease in the Number of illegal Migrants in Sarajevo

Today, the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Edin Forto, received the head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) mission in BiH, Laura Lungarotti, who informed him that the state of illegal immigration in the Canton Sarajevo is under control.

According to her, a significant decrease in the number of illegal migrants in CS was recorded.

She stressed that the security situation is stable, and announced that from April 1, part of the responsibilities will be taken over by the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies (DKPT) BiH, which will be in charge of security in temporary reception centers.

Forto and Lungarotti also discussed the possibilities of cooperation with BiH diaspora.

In this context, Prime Minister Forto stated that the goal of the Government of Sarajevo Canton is to open an office for the diaspora, the scope of which will be defined through direct requests from representatives of the diaspora.
