Iran condemned the new EU and UK Sanctions

Iran condemned new EU and UK sanctions on Tehran and denied providing ballistic missiles to Russia, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said in a statement on Tuesday.

The European Union agreed on Monday to impose sanctions on seven individuals and seven organizations, including Iran Air, over their links to Iran’s transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia.

The list also includes Saha Airlines and Mahan Air and Iran’s Deputy Defense Minister Seyed Hamzeh Ghalandari.

At the same time, Britain added nine new individuals and organizations to its Iran sanctions regime.

Last month, the United States, citing intelligence it said was shared with allies, said Russia had received ballistic missiles from Iran for its war in Ukraine.

A spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry denied on Tuesday that his country had supplied Russia with ballistic missiles.

“Some European countries and Great Britain unfortunately claimed without evidence that Iran intervened militarily in this conflict, which was completely denied,” Baghaei said, referring to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
