The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran made a statement after Friday night’s Israeli attack on several locations in this country and stated that it was a clear violation of the Charter of the United Nations (UN).
In the reaction that was sent from Tehran, both to Israel and the rest of the world, it is stated that Iran appreciates all the countries that condemned Israel’s attack.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasizing the use of all material and spiritual capabilities of the Iranian nation to defend its security and vital interests, as well as fulfilling its duties towards regional peace and security, the individual and collective responsibility of all countries in the region to protect peace in the region, appreciates all peace-loving countries in the region and other countries that have expressed their disgust and condemned the aggressive action of the occupying Israeli regime,” Tehran said.
They said that it is clear that the main sources of instability are Israel and the United States (U.S.) as a partner of the authorities in Tel Aviv.
“Undoubtedly, the continuation of the occupation, illegal actions and crimes of the Zionist regime in the region, especially the genocide against the Palestinian people and the aggression against Lebanon, which continued with the military and political support of the U.S., is the main cause of tension in the region,” they said.
Finally, they called on the international community to stop Israel’s actions. They also talked about a possible retaliatory attack on Israel.
“As the competent authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran have repeatedly emphasized, the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that it has the right and obligation to defend itself against foreign acts of aggression, based on the inherent right to legitimate defense, which is also reflected in Article 51 of the UN Charter,” it concludes.
