The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milanko Kajganić, and the Deputy Chief Prosecutor and Head of the Special Department for War Crimes, Ivan Matešić, as well as the prosecutors of that department, spoke today with colleagues from the prosecution at the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts (IRMCT), including former prosecutor Douglas Stringer from the Hague Tribunal (ICTY).

The meeting was held on the recommendation of Judge Joanna Korner, and it was agreed that in the following period, Prosecutor Stringer will be engaged in the framework of advisory support to prosecutors and professional staff of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The purpose of the engagement is to achieve better efficiency of work on war crimes cases and implementation of the Revised Strategy for War Crimes, announced the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has good cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office at the IRMCT in carrying out activities with the aim of strengthening the rule of law and the fight against impunity for war crimes in BiH and the countries of the region.
