Is Ryanair moving from Tuzla to Sarajevo?

After the largest European airline, Ryanair, confirmed that it plans to cancel flights from Tuzla from June 1st, there were various speculations about the reasons.

The airline started flights to Tuzla last November with routes from Vienna, Memmingen and Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

It is very rare for such large companies to leave some cities only a few months after starting operations.

One of the speculations that appeared in the public is that Ryanair moved to Sarajevo. The key reason for such speculation is the fact that Sarajevo International Airport is currently preparing to announce the names of new companies that will operate from the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

One of those companies will establish a base in Sarajevo, but it is not yet known who it is. An announcement from Sarajevo Airport is expected every day.

Therefore, it is speculated that it is Ryanair that could start operations from Sarajevo, either in the form of opening a base or without it. There is no confirmation for this yet, nor is there any accurate information on whether it is connected to the suspension of flights from Tuzla.

Another reason that is mentioned in public is that Ryanair abandons Tuzla due to certain fees, but these two reasons do not even have to exclude each other.

Namely, the Sarajevo airport, after significantly expanding its capacity, plans to extend its working hours and become a 24-hour airport within the year. In order for this to happen, everyone involved in this must have enough capacity and the airport must have enough staff.

Two companies have already shown interest in flying at night, Biznis Info reports.
