Is the Federation of BiH entering a serious political Crisis?

The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) is entering the fourth month since the elections, and according to experts, in a serious political crisis. Instead of a new government, the citizens got a blockade again, which could last a long time.

“It is absolutely impossible to expect the SDA to change, if I may say so, bearing in mind the future of BiH, the situation in the Balkans, geostrategic aspects, etc. That kind of responsibility does not exist with them, and there is also no responsibility for what that they advocated in the pre-election campaign,“ told Zarko Papic, political analyst.

“The SDA, of which he is a member and an obedient soldier, as Mr. Lendo himself said, decided to obstruct the establishment of a new parliamentary majority. Unfortunately, here in this story, and that is the saddest thing, the fundamental arguments of the SDA are missing, which is why they want the government to be formed without them, and they can explain it with any normal explanations other than those that are very egoistic,“ said Adnan Huskic, political analyst.

Papic explains that a large number of mistakes were made. The SDP is paying dearly for the trust betrayed by the coalition partners, while the SDA in Lenda sees a way to stay in power and therefore blocks every step that leads to the establishment of the government, and only the citizens pay for all these wrong moves. Without the President of the Federation, there is no new Prime Minister of the Federation.

Although the elected leadership of the Federation clearly stated that they did not reach an agreement and that the issue of the election of the President of the Federation will again be returned to the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament, the leader of the HDZ of BiH is optimistic.

“As far as the Federation is concerned, I am convinced that next week we will appoint the president of the Federation, Ms. Bradara, and two deputies, that is, vice presidents, and that from that moment on, further activities will proceed, “ noted Dragan Covic, president of HDZ BiH.

“In the end, everything will come down to a harrowingexperience, and at the end of that, the international community, whether the Office of the High Representative (OHR) or in some other way, will probably intervene,“ stated Zarko Papic, political analyst.

Further activities mean the election of the prime minister of the Federation and the new federal government, and Refik Lendomust also vote for her appointment, who expressly said that his vote will not go if the government is not also made up of the SDA. As a reminder, the Constitution of the Federation states that the President of the Federation, with the consent of both Vice-Presidents of the Federation, appoints the Government after consultation with the Prime Minister or the candidate for that position, within 30 days from the day of the election of the President and two Vice-Presidents. And we are at the beginning again, because the earlier agreement implied that the prime minister of the federal government would be Nermin Niksic. And the majority in both houses of the Parliament of the Federation is again on the test.
