Israeli politicians have again threatened Lebanon that it can soon expect a full-scale conflict with Israel.
The first to threaten was a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Israeli Parliament, Nissim Vaturi, who said that it is a matter of days when Israel will go to war with Lebanon, specifically Hezbollah.
“There is no other way. Netanyahu is of the same opinion and this is something that will develop in the coming days. He has already informed the military officials and said that we must end this saga,” Vaturi said.
He also sent a message that the Beirut suburb of Daniyeh, also the main stronghold of Hezbollah, will look like Gaza.
Former war cabinet member Benny Gantz also said Israel should shift its focus from Gaza to Hezbollah and the Lebanese border.
“We have enough forces to deal with Gaza and we should concentrate on what is happening in the north. The time of the north has come and actually I think we are late on this issue,” Gantz believes.
He also said that the Israeli army in Gaza had passed the decisive point of the operation.
“We can do whatever we want in Gaza. However, if we can’t reach an agreement on the hostages in the near future, we should head north. We are able to hit Lebanon if necessary,” Gantz concluded, Klix.ba writes.
