At least 16,314 Palestinian children have been killed in Israel’s devastating offensive on the Gaza Strip since October 7th last year, local authorities said on Thursday.

Among the victims are 35 children who died of starvation due to the Israeli blockade of the enclave, according to a statement from the Government Media Office in Gaza, published on the occasion of 300 days of Israeli attacks on the enclave.

“About 10,980 women, 885 medics, 165 journalists and 79 members of the civil defense were killed in the Israeli attacks,” the statement added.

It was pointed out that since October 7th, 2023, seven mass graves were discovered in Gaza, from which 520 bodies were found.

In violation of a United Nations (UN) Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire, Israel has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since the October 7th, 2023 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.

Since then, nearly 39,500 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed and more than 91,000 injured, according to local health authorities.

Israel has been accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered it to immediately end its military operation in the southern city of Rafah, where more than a million Palestinians sought refuge from the war before it was attacked on May 6th.
