The Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Administration (ITA) today approved the adoption of the Rulebook on Amendments to the Rulebook on Internal Organization in the Indirect Taxation Administration, which created the necessary organizational conditions for the smooth functioning of the customs service at several border crossings in Bosnia and Herzegovina – this administration announced.

As stated, the adoption of that rulebook made it possible to establish a customs service at the Gradiška Novi Most – Gornji Varoš Border Crossing, as well as at the new Rača 2 – Sremska Rača 2 Border Crossing, whose operation is expected to begin in mid-October this year.

At the same time, the functioning of the customs service at the border crossings towards the Republic of Croatia was made possible, which, in accordance with the Agreement on border crossings between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, changed their status from border crossings for border traffic to border crossings for international road passenger traffic.

These are the Zagrad, Vaganj, Vinica, Subašići, Drnovačko Brdo, Duži, Orahov Do and Tržačka Raštela border crossings.

At these border crossings, it will be possible to pass passenger vehicles and passengers with goods that the passenger is carrying and which he is obliged to declare to the customs authority, in the value of up to 5,000 KM, provided that they are not commercial goods.

  • By adopting that rulebook, the ITA took an important step in creating organizational assumptions for the efficient and smooth performance of the customs service at new and recategorized border crossings – state the ITA BiH.

The implementation of the adopted Ordinance, it is clarified, enables the realization of the obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina arising from the Agreement on border crossings between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, as well as the Annex to the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on a joint location at the Rača 2 – Sremska Rača 2 border crossing.

The adoption of amendments to the Rulebook further improves the organization of the work of the Directorate for Indirect Taxation and creates conditions for more efficient implementation of customs procedures, while at the same time fulfilling the international obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of border traffic, the ITA announced.
