The Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Administration (UO ITA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted today in Banja Luka a decision on establishing temporary coefficients for the distribution of income from the single account for the period July-September, which enables a one percent greater inflow of funds into the budget of Republika Srpska, said the Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Srđan Amidžić.
Amidžić said that the decision was adopted on the first temporary settlement between the beneficiaries of the distribution of indirect taxes from the single account of the ITA for this year, which foresees a 14.5 million BAM higher inflow of funds into the budget of the Republika Srpska.
He added that until now “it was unfair” that these payments went to the budget of Republika Srpska at lower rates because the Minister of Treasury and Finance of BiH was not appointed.
Amidžić said that the rulebook was also adopted, according to which it will be possible to implement the exemption from payment of VAT on donated food.
He stated that the Management Board of ITA BiH will still discuss tolls when it comes to railways, and the energy sector, mines and thermal power plants, respecting the obligations towards the Energy Community and the state of the energy needs of the Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.
“We will try to find solutions that will respect the energy reality in the area we live in,” said Amidžić.
He said that it is not good that 220 million BAM from tolls are still undistributed in the account, stressing that these funds should be put into operation, and that the final distribution coefficients should be defined through methodology.
Answering a journalist’s question about Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik’s position that Bosnia and Herzegovina should become a member of BRICS, Amidžić said that every association that grows economically should be supported because economic cooperation is good, not only when it comes to BRICS, but also other associations from the EU.
“BRICS today represents a serious economic force. China is the world’s leading economy today,” Amidžić pointed out.
Speaking about the procurement of space for the ITA of BiH in Banja Luka, Amidžić pointed out that “all the procedures have been completed, and that according to the last decision of the Council of Ministers of BiH, the total amount for the procurement of this space is 69.4 million BAM, of which 1.9 million BAM is for procurement of furniture, not 100 million BAM, as it was presented to the public”.
“It is a shame and politically unacceptable that it has not been completed in Banja Luka until now. Why did no one ask the question when the space was acquired for the regional center Sarajevo, Mostar or Tuzla. More than 33 million BAM of common funds were allocated to solve the accommodation in these three city, but not in Banja Luka,” said Amidžić.
Before the start of the regular session, a constitutive session of the Management Board of the Administration for Indirect Taxation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held.
