The Italian company Olimpias Knitting, which operates within the Benetton Group, expressed interest in opening a textile facility in the Brcko District.

On this occasion, Mayor of Brcko District, Sinisa Milic and Minister of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska Petar Dokic spoke in Brcko with Director of Olimpias Knittings and representatives of the Italian Confederation of Industries of Serbia.

Sinisa Milic, Mayor of Brcko, said that it was the first meeting to exchange information on what Brcko District of BiH offers to potential investors and point out that Brcko, as a former center of the textile industry with tradition in this branch of the economy, offered many convenient opportunities.

I am encouraged by this and the talks I had with interested Slovak businessmen last week who also expressed tremendous interest in the relocation of their production facilities to the District, and we are certainly moving to the aim of making the District a suitable development environment, new employment and to stopping young people of leaving these areas,” emphasized Milic, Ekapija news portal reports.
