12992283_1153998757984412_659414636_n“Pliva River – Nature Park” is the initiative by Sports and Fishing Association “Zlatovčica” Jajce, supported by the Municipality of Jajce and municipalities of Jezero and Šipovo.

This was confirmed at the meeting held in the Cabinet of the Mayor of Jajce Municipality Edin Hozan. In the presence of the Mayor of Jezero Municipality Dušan Šajin and the Director of the Tourist Board of the Šipovo Municipality Siniša Pandžić, the President of Association “Zlatovčica” Sadija Bašimamović presented this initiative.

All municipalities expressed joint readiness to support the initiative of the Association “Zlatovčica” Jajce to declare the Pliva River a Nature Park and place it under special protection. The Pliva River is a great natural potential and resource, a habitat of swamp birds and autochthonous fish species, surrounded with cultural, historical and natural treasure. All these are reasons why the Pliva River and its surroundings should be declared an ecological oasis under protection.

With this initiative, the Pliva River, from the source to the mouth and with all the lakes, should be declared a Nature Park, thus permanently protecting its banks, flora and fauna. A public debate will be organized soon, and the Association “Zlatovčica” invites all interested citizens to give their opinion about the mentioned initiative. Citizens can deliver their proposals, objections and suggestion in a written form to the address of the Association or to the Municipality of Jajce.

Association “Zlatovčica”, the last year’s host of the 35th World Championships in Fly Fishing, thanks everyone for support they showed for the initiative and invites everyone to act together in order to protect and preserve the Pliva River – the pearl of the city of Jajce.
