On September 20, 2024, the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Masami Kinefuchi, met with the Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs. Dubravka Bošnjak, and used the opportunity to hand over three ambulance vehicles and medical equipment to healthcare institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The vehicles were provided within the framework of the Agreement defined by the exchange of notes between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Japan, on Japanese non-refundable aid in the amount of 100,000,000 Japanese yen for equipping medical institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This is the second part of the donation provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of the aforementioned Agreement, which was signed in 2021. These are Toyota vehicles, with a total value of 153,810.00 euros.

Ambulance vehicles were assigned to healthcare institutions designated as end users by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republika Srpska, the Ministry of Health of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Department of Health and Other Services of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These are: ZU Hospital “Sveti Vračevi” Bijeljina, ZU Cantonal Hospital “Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić” Bihać and Sub-Department for Public Health of Brčko District BiH.

It is important to emphasize that in 2023, the first part of the donation of medical equipment (portable ultrasound scanner ARIETTA 65) was donated. The end user of the mentioned equipment is JZU Bolnica Gradiška.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kinefuchi stated that he hopes that the donations of three ambulance vehicles and medical equipment will contribute to the quality of life of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
